Is the cdj1000 really meant for scratching djs and vinyl djs?

im strickly cds all the way. i don't find scratching fun nor do i like doing it. im just into the effects and bpm counters and mic effects and such. so is the cdj1000 really for me then? should i just get a decent cd player like the cdj100s and get an awesome mixer like the djm3000, 500, or 600?

effects can be good.. if used wisely.. BPM counters are useless. neither will really add much to your mix.. hehehehe

Personally, if I was going to mix CDs only, I'd get a CMX3000 and a DJM3000, in the nice little package pioneer offers with the case and all. The CMX3000 has a great rep already, and it's really works out nice with the DJM3000 in the case... it's all right in front of you that way.

But I'd rather spend that INSANE amount of money on two decks (SL1200s ), a nice mixer, and a LOT of records :P

MERiDiAN5i2 is correct on this matter.. you can also use the cmx-3000's as "hands on" cd players without mounting them.

But if you HAVE TO get the CDJ-1000's because you have $$$$ to blow.. purchase them. If you want to try to save some $$$, get the CDJ-800's because the extra features on the 1000's arent worth the extra US$150-250

you could always consider final scratch if digital was your mean issue ( you know .... playing mp3= cheaper bla bla bla )

apart from that

the 1000 rocks on all grounds ..... including scratching, I've seen vids, and live performances of scratching and battling with these puppies and they perform wonderful , it's impressive, only draw back, might always be me hallucinating they sounded so freaking digital when being scratched with

it's your call , spend all your money where you heart leads you

I remember reading an article in URB (U.S electronic magazine) about this DMC champ who is now using the CDJ1000 over vinyl
