Tables/Mixer Problems

I hope someone can be of some help to me. I recently moved, and ever since then, my tables have been fucked up. They were moved in a skeleton case, so I don't think they got bumped too much. However, I am barely getting any output, and any record played is super quiet, to the point where you can barely hear it. I don't know if the tables are fucked up, or if it is the mixer. Please if anyone has any ideas, HELP ME! I need to get back to spinning. Thanks dudes

I don't know if your tables are messed up or if it could be your mixer. I don't know what eq you have, but no matter...look in your owner's manuals to see if your eq has attenuation adjusters. Just crank it up a little bit and there ya go

are you sure its your tables? did you try plugging them in in another amp or mixer? sounds like its not grounded but im not sure. if you feel like you can open it up then do it but id take it to get repaired by and authorized person if you dont want to screw up your warantee... well actually id fix it myself beucase i love fixing things but its up to you...make sure you get to the root of the problem first, test things out with equipment that you know works

here is another trick.

Take off the carts and get a qtip and swab it in alcohol. Dampen the connector (there are 4 tiny round ones) and plug it screw it back in. Depending on how old your tables are, the connection between the cart and the tonearm may be going. My buddy has a pair of techs that are 17 years old and that is the only problem he faces on a weekly basis.

thanks so much for the ideas everyone. unfortunately, nothing has corrected the problem. i guess i may as well take them in to get checked out by a trained professional. i appreciate all the help though...and hopefully i'll be back up and spinning in no time!

naw i doubt its the table,or mixer .. when it comes to output it usually is the needle or cartrigde...try different carts mayb that will solve ....sometimes if your vinyl was laying somewhere warm could effect the output of the vinyl but i doubt its that ...but sounds like the carts...im pretty sure thats the cause of your prob

a) mixer is set to line in rather than phono in (most logical)
b) headshell to tonearm connections
c) mixer is toast

OMG Meridian I love you. Although, I feel kinda retarded at the same time. it was indeed that my mixer was set to line in insted of phono in...wow. considering the fact i've set it up sooo many times properly, and this time i screw it up and it didn't even cross my mind. and to think that i had opened up both of my tables and mixer...Hahaha i'm retarded. thanks everyone, i've got a huge boner now that i can hit the decks again
