Ok i got about 2500records now and i aint got room for them... I got one of the guest bedroom walk in closet completely full....I'm even thinking about renting or storage or something.....but maybe some nice stable record shelves would work

Just get a really big closet with 4-5(-6?) shelves, that'll work fine. i know someone who doe this with his cd's (10 shelves) I think that's by far the easiest way.

2500 records is this all electronic music.

bout 700 misc. rock/hiphop/disco(maybe 200 disco disco)...the rest electronic music...I got just about every Guerilla release.....and a lot of early-mid 90s progressive house....and of course trance from bout 95-00 then mostly prog again.

What are yaffa blocks?

One thing that you should be warned against is the stresses that this incrediable weight can have on your floor and walls. I would not pile your records up on shelves until they are completely full. You can bring down your drywall if you do this because most shelves aren't mounted on studs. Also if you stack them from floor to ceiling, then you can run into the problem of a warped floor. This will only happen if you are on the second floor, but also on the first if you have a basement. If you are on a slab on the first floor this will be fine. My suggestion is that you take the records that you mix with and store it in your dj room and then take some of the others ones and place them around the house!

Target & IKEA both have wood storage units that are perfect for vinyl.

The one @ Target holds about 900 - 1100 records, there are 9 bins in the shelving unit.

You could also try constructing one of those bins they always have at record stores...i would imagine they would be pretty straight forward to make and you would be able to organize your stuff while still having it easily accessable

the only problem i would imagine would be the weight...this is something that has to be on solid foundation for sure
