Help in starting out producing...

First what I have:

Athlon 1ghz chip
256 RAM
SCSI components
36 gig HD 10500rpm
soundblaster live platinum with livedrive

i also have Reason...

Should i get any hardware or no? I definitely want a MIDI keyboard. Should I bother getting one with sounds? or just get a controller and then get software synths or other rack synths? I plan on adding another 60 gig hd and like 512 more ram... Maybe another 1ghz chip too...

Should I run win98 or 2000?

Midi controller always is a good idea.
Whether to get one with sounds depend on whether you feel limited by the sound of Reason alone. It's all opinion on what you need.
I think win 98 has some better driver shit support, not sure tho.
Anyone heard of this? There's a special Reason keyboard coming out...i saw it in a magazine, don't have it here tho, otherwise I'd tell you the brand, which i forgot.

Use Win 98, for sure!

I midi controller is always a nice thing to have, but maybe it is better to save your money (don't buy the other computer hardware too, your computer is already a very good machine) and buy a 'beginner' but nice synth, cause than you have a controller too at the same time.

It is just my opnion, a lot of extra memory like 512 do not will improve your system so much, so save the money.
