What makes you so special? Why should a night book you over anyone else?

I don't want to see any modesty here haha, just go for it - persuade me that you're the best... but be honest. And if you honestly don't think you do anything special then say so (can't imagine too many people would do that, but we'll see!)

I made my club debut at FUSE in Huddersfield in April 2003 at the age of 17. I was asked to play a warm up set for Miss Behavin from Tidy Trax. Me and rich the owner had a chat afterwards an he seemed very pleased with my set. The next day Rich offered me a residency at the night. I played at the FUSE events for around a year appearing next to such names as Matt Hardwick, Lee Haslam, BK, Blue Amazon, Ed Real and Chris Gawtry. Unfortunately the night came to a close when the venue shut for a refurb under new management.

Through 2004 I’d been playing at small events in my home town of York. Gaining a bit more reputation and handing out CD’s to people off message boards and at events I’ve visted. I’ve did a mix for Storm 106 in Ireland with great feedback. A big event to follow on from one of my mixes was a set at Gatecrashers Tuesday night called Filth. That was April ish time. Come September 04 I had established my own night called Blank (http://www.club-blank.com). Each event we’ve held has been a massive success and blank is still running to this day (website hasn’t been updated for sometime)

Admittedly 2004 was a quiet year really, with only a few gigs & not much feedback on anything I was doing but 2005 is now here. Over the last 4 months I’ve worked my arse off and played more gigs than I have in all the time I’ve been DJ-ing. My biggest gig to date was once again playing at Gatecrasher on the 2nd March 2005 where I this time appeared under the famous Lion brand name at one of their “Young Gun” events. A showcase for DJ talent of the north. It was a massive success. This year Ive also played radio shows such as future grooves and trance airwaves – with a regular spot alongside Marco V or marcel woods soon to be confirmed.

Ill be playing my first southern gig and making my TR-909 debut on the 29th April 2005…

Well what sets J&C aside from the others and my self is that we/I try to get the crowed involved as much as we can We bring freebies to show to throw out to the crowed we make sure to make the ppl that are paying the bucks to see us enjoy the show

Thanks for the info, informative read but doesn't really answer the question... Why do you think these clubs booked you instead of anyone else? Why should I try and get to see you at one of your gigs, how will it be new and original? This is really what I'm asking.

Check my recent mix out, you can see from the tracklist itself Im not just another trance jock and I havent just jumped on this new electro & tech house bandwagon that seems to be all the craze at the moment. I try to play records other DJ's dont play but are still of a very high standard, I cant really explain it without sounding big headed so you just have to listen.

I get alot of comments on my technical ability, do alot of chopping with tracks, using effects all the time and I can use 3 decks all at once. I love what I do and generally dont have a fee I just ask that promoters pay my travel. Im not one for playing anthem after anthem, I actually like to take the crowd somewhere & get the energy flowing. My job is to make people dance and I think I can do that very well.

Anyway I cant really say alot more because I hate bigging myself up. I just love what I do and the music I play.

Because i work. hard.

noone gives me the gigs, i get the gigs. i work hard to meet people, i work hard to get where i need to go, and i think that is directly related to why i play clubs and am only 16 years old, and i played my first club when i was only 15. ive always worked hard on the business end so i can play my tunes. on multiple occasions ive gotten booked without any demo or anything.

i have a way with words, and find talking to management (promotors, club owners, etc) quite easy.
