i personally like the s-1000. just picked it up a few weeks ago and it works like a charm. the only thing i can really complain about is switching between scratch mode and bend mode.

omg, buy the cdj200. its sick. as mentioned before, much better pitch accuracy, it has built in FX, and once you use the loop cutter, you will never think about a denon ever again. plus is plays mp3s as well. its absolutly impossible to scratch on, and the denon does a so-so job of giving you a scratching platter. but if you arent gonna try and scratch with it, you really should buy the pioneer.
I sell these things everyday, and under $500 US, there isnt a CD player out there that i would rather have than a cdj-200.

Re: cd players: Pioneer CDJ-200 or Denon DN-S1000?

everyone here seems to like their pioneers...no question about it...performace and sensitivity wise pioneer rock...
anyhow I actually got to play around with the denon dns 1000. Also note to mention I use the CDJ's 1000 MK2 at the moment therefore it doesn't take a genius to figure out that I was chocked with the denon's when I touched them. Comparing how they feel and how smooth you get with the 1000. Anyhow I never got to play with the CDj's 200, but they seems to maintain some of the features from the higher end pioneer. Therefore I would go for the pioneer 200 instead of denon's 1000. Money wise I think the pioneer might be a bit cheaper, not by much.

If you look at the customer base of the two, you'll
find Denon having a more Hip Hop fan base, whereas,
Pioneer's customers more over towards Dance music.
I've actually seen the video of the Denon S 1000,
and, Pioneer CDJ 200, and, from a mixing point of
view, Pioneer wins hands down. If I was using a
Crossfader, I would go for the Denon.
