Your post was a little confusing, do you need turntables, mixer, rackmount eq???
I'll give you a quick list of good stuff that's a good value for the money.
turntables: sl-1200mk5, $399 @ bestbuy.com (get em pricematched at gc, they keep their value so if you don't like spinning or if you sell them in 10 years the value will remain close to the same. They also last forever, i have a friend that owned his pair since the mid 80s and they work just as good as my newest one that's less than one year old)
Mixer: Dn-x100 $180 (pricematch online)
carts: Stanton 500al2 $25-$30 (cheap, durable, reliable, good to start with)
EQ: you don't need one, the mixer will do just fine.
Records: believe me, If you think equipment is expenisve, records, cds, etc will easily surpass any amount you spend on equipment.
