Should I do it?

Ok, so I found someone selling a DJM 600 for only about 250-300 USD. Really freakin' cheap. But right now I'm currently completely satisfied with my DXM 06 and don't have any need for two more channels. Then I start thinking that further down the road I'll want to add more to my setup, be it another cdj, or get a couple of turntables and learn some vinyl mixing and whatnot. Should I go ahead and get this used (though supposedly still in great condition) DJM 600 since it's so amazingly cheap? I'm thinking about going for it since you just don't see them for that price all the time.

I'd go for it. That's pretty cheap.

Just make sure its not the DJM-500.
Ive had a few people try to sell me the 500 as the 600.

If it is the 600....DO IT (if it is in good condition)

A couple years ago I had a dxm-06 and i loved it!! I would highly recommend it as a two channel fx mixer...But for some reason, I got the itch and bought a djm-600 from my cousin's friend at guitar center so I got a discount (900). I fucking love it - and I am so glad I did, becuase now I have two 1200s and two cdj8hundos - great investment - and what a great great great mixer the 600 is!

my 2cents

I'd definately do it, even if you decide you don't like/want the mixer you're going to make your money back if you sell it on again.

It's a win win situation.

I'd just buy it and then throw it on ebay and make 2-300 off the whole thing.

If you have the money, sure. But why go vinyl if you can get pretty much the same stuff nowadays online as you can on vinyl, and for less?. Sure the sound quality might be a little better on vinyl, because people talk about it being "warm" but personally, the sound quality is just as good with 320 kbps MP3s or WAVs. Maybe it's because i'm not an audiophille, but why spend all that extra money, unless of course you are really serious about being a DJ, but if I remember right, you said you were just doing this as a hobby at home, so you aren't planning to DJ live. Even then, more and more DJs are using CDs.

I'de actually save my money if I were you and get something like a Rane: Empath or an A&H X:One 32 mixer, possibly add one turntable or a third CDJ or an effector and your all set. Sure those mixers aren't cheap, but they are an upgrade from your DXM-06. The DJM 600 is great, but it's quite old and your actually better off with your DXM-06 then that...who knows what condition the one your getting for that price, there could be something wrong with it, hence why it is so cheap...
