I own a pair of numark tt-1520's and I am making the move to technics 1200m3d, but I have a couple of questions to ask
First of all what cartridges would you suggest, I was thinking of maybe the Stanton 520sk, 500ALII, or the Discmaster...which would you prefer, or any other suggestions?
Second I want to get a new mixer and wondered what you would suggest, I was looking at the Vestax PMC15MKII, PMC-27MKII or maybe the Pioneer DJM-300's, any other mixers in that range?
Finally I have no clue what amp or speakers to get, any ideas would be helpful
I want to buy someone decent equipment so that I don't have to get new equipment later on...give me your thoughts, I need as much advise as possible
thanks

It all depends on what you are looking to use it for, like I primarily spin for myself so I have just used the discmasters and so far they have worked perfect.
With the mixer just look for what you want and whats cheapest for that, like do you want kill switches and frequencies. Most things if you really dislike them you can resell them as well.

None of the headshell-less Stantons are worth the money you pay for them, I would go with 500 AL II. Also consoder any Ortofon OM cart, they are a little more expensive but you will get quality and will have them for a long time.

As for the mixer, I'm strongly oppiniated against Pioneer mixers for various reasons, so I won't be recommending any of them. Vestax PMC 27 is a solid piece of equipment and I would go with it ... I'm sure you'll be happy with it and (besides occasional fader changes) it will last for quite some time.

Cool

As far as mixers go, you can get one for fairly inexpensive that will probably be alright for a while. If you want something that's really going to last, then obviously it's going to cost more but you'll be happier in the long run.
Also, you need to decide if you want slide controls or rotary controls. I prefer rotary, myself. I think they give you better control where as it's almost too easy to just push that slide all the way up. Also, slide controls tend to get dirty a lot faster because they are more exposed. Rotary dials (on a decent mixer like Rane,Urei or Bozak) are usually sealed and therefore seem to last much longer.
