born and raised in syracuse, have followed the basketball/football team all of my life...it has been very disappointing. i had no hopes for the playoffs this year, and what do you know?

Congrats to Jimmy Boeheim...that guy deserves a championship. I've been a Syracuse rooter for quite some time, so it is such a great feeling to see them win. I also heard Carmelo Anthony is leaning towards staying at Syracuse for at least one more year...let's hope!

My roomates and I actually followed the whole Tournament and had our own little pool. I lost but the tournament was great! Congrats to Syracuse on a close win.

..y would carmelo stay for another year, when he already accomplished what he needed to accomplish (which was win a championship)?..

..he's going to be eligible for the draft for sure..

he is eligible, and it prob would be smarter for him to go. but being a syracuse fan, i'd like to see him stay.

i heard a rumor that he'll be back next year, but i don't put much stock in rumors. esp when he hasn't been to class in ages, his grades are less than 2.0, and he'll have to go to summer school in order to be eligible to play next year.

considering a <2.0 GPA, he should CERTAINLY go pro now.
If he gets a contract now, he will be earning money earlier, which means that the interest that he could possible earn on that is greater than if he earns money later. and with a <2.0 GPA it is unlikely that he will be earning $$ in other fields, which would require a college degree, at any point in the future.
