NOTE: See the update on the 2nd page.

The original version of this Euro-NRG track:

I hope I'm improving
Comments/thoughts?
Do you think this could rock dancefloors, and/or be signed?

thanks for the comment
I agree, it's more "minimalistic" compared to other Trance songs that have greater variety of effects, but in this case I thought "less is more" - especially in Techno, which this track pretty much is.

By the way, I never heard the track you mentioned.

The thing is, this is an issue of style.
If you listen to most HardTrance songs from Germany and Italy (e.g., DJ Luca Antolini, Tunnel Trance Force, etc.), this style is characterized not by "lush" or "varied" sounds and effects and long "deep" trancey floatey synths, etc., but rather by a simple in-your-face melody and a club sound.

This is the style in which this track is written. By the way, have you heard stuff by DJ Luca Antolini?

I know that your tracks - and I've listened to them - have a lot more effects, samples, transitions, builds, etc.; but your style is completely different. It's more trancey. Mine is more Euro-(in this case Italo-)Dance.

So I think you have to put this in perspective, and judge based on the specific style that you have. (And by the way, all styles are "good," they're just different.)

Hey whats up man. Listening to your song. What I am gonna tell you is constructive feedback and my opinion.

I was reading your post where you said it was supposed to be italo or euro. Being honest, I don't know wtf that means but its sounds to simple. The synths are a lil to high pitched so it sounds a bit cheesy. I'm not bashing you or anything.

I would def lower the pitch on the synths, add a lil effect here and there. Needs to be tweaked. Then again, I like dark sounding shit.
But hey, I'm giving you feedback because I like to recieve feedback aswell.

LOL.

Thanks for the feedback dude, appreciate it.
You know something, other people have told me that I choose pitches that are too high, and they're too sharp for the ear.
But personally I don't sense that...

In terms of 'simplicity,' my philosophy is that often, structure matters more than variety of sounds, and less is often more. At least in the lighter club-dance genre, not psy/deep/prog/uplifting Trance. I like to be focused, and follow well-defined conventions. I dislike having too many melodies, effects, or variations... it's distracting, like having too many colors on your website

P.S. I'll be coming to Miami soon!
Greetings from Baltimore MD. (a few miles north along I-95 )

You need to do something about the off-beat percussion. I don't know what it is that you're using but it doesn't sound right. Maybe try and use some 909 sets or something. I don't know fruity loops that well, but i'm sure there woud be a 909 replicator in there somewhere.

Otherwise, considering how long you've been producing, it's coming along okay. You still have a lot of work to do in making the track fuller. There isn't enough in there to make it sound complete if you know what I mean. I'm used to writing techno which is a lot more complicated than your style, but even a bit of reverb on the synth, lower it an octave maybe and give it a bit of delay to fill out the track as well.

Also, try and find some decent kick samples, cos if you're trying to write hard trance (I take it that's what your doing), you need something a lot more solid, and the same with the bassline.

IF you know what you're doing on rebirth, you can make some huge German style basslines off that.

Also, back on the synth, maybe open up the amp release filter a bit, or just make the note a bit longer.

Hope this helps.

Endre, I know from your other posts (and music) that you -- and the majority of people on this forum, unfortunately! -- are not attuned to this style. That's OK; people who love and appreciate this simpler, more commercial genre, will probably have better things to say. It's regrettable that there are so few of us here (probably just me, mikefassy, and 1-2 other people).

Keep in mind also that, for instance, only a couple of years ago, Slobodan Petrovic Jr. (the famous "Pulsedriver", "Topmodelz", and "Rocco"), whose style is somewhat similar to mine, was criticized for producing "simple" and "flat" tracks. Now he's at the forefront of the dance scene, enjoying considerable success.

ok

I think your track can use some more FX (reverb delay) on certain channels.

especially on your lead sound, which I have to agree with other people is a bit basic. And I surely can appreciate minimal music, but this is too much toward "not minimal" to get that certificate IMHO

Polish it up
