For those who want a local DC/MD/VA forum

For those from DC/MD/VA who feel that creating forum focusing on our scene would be beneficial, please state your opinion here. To those who don't feel it would be a good idea, I'd like to hear your opinions as to why. No use of the: smiley.

creating two forums out of the one forum, is a bad idea, becuase it will yield two rather small forae. There are a good amount of NYTAs and a good amount of DC/VA/MD ta's and together they (we?) make up a nice crowd. Seperating this into two board, might make two really small boards.

Furthermore, splitting this board up would reduce the diversity. Fewer people -> less diversity -> less 'fun' and interaction.

Last but not least, there are many people here from NY who sometimes attend gigs in DC and there are probably people from DC, who come to NYC. Splitting it up would make it harder for them to keep up with all events.

Ok, but what does that say about the Florida section of this forum? or there being three other sections within this one forum? Thats a clearcut division but it seems to work itself out. I don't travel to NY that often and I find it hard to keep up with local events while sifting through this massive forum. As a person that still reads the NY forum as well as the other 3 sections, I don't believe that the TA's would be split. I've heard changing the name of the NY forum to the North East forum could work too. However, this would not address my gripe with the current system.

By the way, its not like I hate New Yorkers. There is no hostility intended in anyway.

florida

midwest

and

west coast

are NOT the same as New York and DC

yes maybe their should be a renaming of the forum

but still the two cities are extremely close and we users of this forum don't make any distinctions between the two.

how about a East Coast forum instead of just NY so no one feels left out.
