Got the HDJ1000
I'll be playing out with them tonight...if anyone's interested I'll post a review. Still wouldn't mind getting another pair of SE-DJ5000s just for nostalgia, but that's gonna be another time.
DJ Tranz is right... the HDJ1000s aren't nearly as 'bling bling' in real life as the web photos have them appear.
Cheers...

the verdict is....
They rawk!! Best phones I have used. Not as 'boomy' as the Sony 700s. Much crisper, cleaner-sounding. I was also shocked by how light they are. Bottom line... the sound quality is excellent (like everyone sez - be sure to turn down the headphone monitor volume - these things are sensitive), noise rejection is excellent, the rubberized surfaces allow you to maintain a good grip on them (I don't think I'll miss the shoulder pad of the SE-DJ5000s after all, though I would like a belt clip), they are comfortable, and they look good.
Highly recommended... worth every penny.
Cheers...

hahaha, do I need to say, "Told you so" hahahaha, sorry m8 couldn't resist! Yeah, I don't think I mentioned to you the light weight of HDJ1000, and one reminder to all hdj1000 owners: IF YOU THINK YOUR CORD HAS GONE BAD, LIKE YOU ARE ONLY GETTING SOUND OUT OF ONE EARPHONE AND NOT BOTH, DO NOT THROW YOUR HEADPHONES AWAY OR TRY TO FIX THEM ON YOUR OWN. TAKE THEM TO PIONEER AUTHORIZED REPAIR SHOP AND FOR A FEW BUCKS THEY WILL REPLACE THE CORD, YES THE CORD ON HDJ1000 IS REPLACEABLE.

Has anyone compared them to something accurate, like Sony MDR-7506 or MDR-V6??
