The answer depends on how much money you want to spend

Am I correct in thinking you want to record the vocals and synths straight into your computer, and that you don't have an external mixer?

So, you want a sound card with mic inputs too then?

I have an external 20 chnl mixer and currently the outs are connected to the monitors. I have not yet recorded anything. I have a cheap 16bit sound card but I want to get one thats 24bit or more for better recording. I have seen some that come with a nice front pannel that fits in the front of the computer case. My price range is about
$100 - $400 USD.

If you only need 1 input and 1 output, go for an m-audio audiophile 2496, its a budget recording card. Goes for about $140 on ebay. It does 24-bit recording (not like the audigy advertised as 24/96 but only does 24-bit output). It has RCA inputs and outputs.

If you need more inputs our outputs, you can go for their more expensive models. just head over to their website and see what you need. http://www.m-audio.com you generally can't go wrong, i haven't heard anything bad about m-audio, they have great driver support.

Yeah I was looking at M-Audio cards. They seem to have some good options. What do you think about TerraTec is that better then M-Audio?
