As I've made it very clear here, I'm extremely pro American, but I will not vote for Bush again. I agree with his policies towards Iraq, but that is about it. Here are the reasons why:
1. Withdrawing from 5 peace treaties since he took office. Some widthdraws were manditory for US security, but he didn't do any PR to smooth it over.
2. Refusing to talk with North Korea. We should never, ever step away from peace talks.
3. Not traveling to other countries and meeting other presidents/prime ministers. Alienating some countries in the process.
4. Bad Charisma. At least Clinton was a good public speaker and he had charisma.
5. Not being vocal. A US president needs good Public relations and lots of it.
6. Saying that we will send billions in aid to Africa for AIDS.
7. His crappy/extreme "just say no" type stance on drugs.
8. Giving citizenship to Mexican illegal immagrants. They are here illegally, they are breaking the law, why reward that?
9. No giving states more money for the war on terrorism/security
10. For not promoting our efforts in Afganistan more.
Your ideas please...
Wow someone else who thinks the same way Also very pro american and I agree with Iraq, but I too will not be voting for Bush again. The things he did, needed to be achieved with force yet it could have been handled far more diplomatically.

Quite spot on. Then again, I've always been a democrat (at least more left-leaning than right-leaning).

I'm a mix ... I'm republican in the sense of economic policies and democratic when it comes to civil liberties. Also I can't stand religious beliefs intermingling with the government. The two should always remain independant of one another. Even if it means taking out the "in god we trust" out of the pledge of allegiance.

That being said, I will certainly be happy if/when he delivers but it would not make me punch his name in the ballot box come '04

What we need to do is put more money into AIDs research and stop the problem at its source, not put bandaids on problems which could allow the problem to spread and get worse.
Let me put it this way:
If you give a man a fish he will eat for a day, if you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime.
The billions that they are spending on this war which you advocate, could be spent to research this cure AND feed many hungry mouths in this world.
You want to liberate people?? Liberate the 43 million people infected by the clutches of HIV and AIDS! But that hasnt reaked havoc on white suburbia so its ignored!

Why do people keep critisizing the US government to do these things ... critisize your OWN government and ask why THEY are not spending billions to liberate people from AIDS. You don't see very many americans questioning why canada or europe isnt spending more money on africa ...
You express concern for human life??? Have you ever expressed desire for your OWN country to be more proactive in contributing towards humanitarian aid??? Everybody likes to play the blame game and is reluctant to accept responsibility for their own country's inactions.

Yes in retrospect we should not have interfered in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Kosovo, Somalia, Rwanda (which we didn't), etc.!
