I just bought a set of Tech 1200's with a pair of Stanton Trackmasters. Everytime I try to scratch or rewind a record the needle jumps and throws everything off. Am I being to ruff? Because I allways thought TECHNICS will not skate. Am I doing something wrong? I set the tone arm height to "0" the anti skate to "0" what am I doing wrong!!?!?!? I have my tables laying in my flight cases could it be they are not sturdy enough? Please help me its really frustarting me!!!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE

yaaaar matey there is no standard setting you should have your tonearm height, counter weight and anti-skipping set to
when your needle is on a record...your tone arm should be perfectly horizontal...so adjust the height accordingly
and your anti-skipping should be set at the same thing that your tonearm height is set at (it *might* actually be the same thing as your counterweight setting...im not 100% sure i would have to check my tables...but anti-skating has to do with the outward force created so i would imagine its due to the height of the tonearm...but either way its one or the other )
read the manual!
there are hundreds of thousands of online guides too...check out google.com

Reading that you are scratching...I have a DJ Qbert tutorial video, and he does the following. He rips the weight right off the tonearm, puts it on upsidedown/backwards, whatever, and sets it on the first notch. Antiskate set to 0, height to 3.5 ... if that helps you at all

Exactly. It is fairly common to have the counterweight on backwards for you TTs. The numbered ring pointing out. This adds extra counterweight pressure pressure then in its normal direction. If youre decks are having problems (skipping) then you should do this if you need too. With more counterweight pressure, it will add extra wear on your vinyl however. Not too much to worry about. Then again the problem could just be faulty needles.
