new Numark digital mixer with Spectrum Analyzer

I have always thought that this would be the sweetest thing to have on a DJ mixer, and now numark has one out.

and it's only $199!

what do you guys think? personally, i would really like to see one of these in action.

well, it's digital and half the price of the the other digital mixer numark has, and way cheaper than any other digital mixer. and it also has a new feature that nobody has ever seen, i don't think $200 is too much for that.

I think that for 200$, you can buy a better quality mixer...

so that you could see not just how loud the overall track is, but the entire frequency range. so, if you turned down the bass on the incoming track, but left the treble up, on a regular mixer, the whole signal would appear quieter(less LEDS would light up). with this mixer, only less lights on the bass frequencies would light up, and you could tell that the high frequency was still nice and loud and clear.

It also appears you could switch it to master, in which case, i think the whole display would double in width, and you'd have twelve bands of monitoring for the master out, allowing you to see where there were holes in the sound level, leading to smoother mixes.

I dunno, in some cases, it might be very handy... But, I don't think that it will be that usefull. I mean, Do you really need to know what the average freq is? But, have to admit it, a digital mixer for 200$... not too much.
