Rasta Qontact @ Amsterdam Review

Hey guys! I am posting this here because I don't speak Dutch and you are the people I want to share my experience with. However, if Ian moves this, I understand.

So, some GTAs (Sir Lunchalot, NetX & gf)JP and I got to Heineken Music Hall when Marco V came on. He played the "C:/, etc" song! So GOOD!! My first time finally getting to see Marco and he killed it!! The sound was great. Having the VIP tickets allowed us to go in the balcony where there were seats. It was quite nice when you wanted to relax. And yes, there was an internet cafe. I think it was just for us TAs who had to post to our friends!! hehehe.

After Marco was Armin van Buuren and he was excellent as well. I mean, the mixing last night was top notch. Armin even played some hardcore techno near the end of his set. I can't remember many tracks. "Yet Another Day" and Function - Seduction

And then it was Johan Gielen who never ceases to amaze me. He played Binary Finary and the crowd went insane. Also a cool mix of Tomcraft - Loneliness and Jan Johnston - Breathing. w00t! During this time JP and I were up front waiting for Paul to come on. He came in the side door and my radar spotted him right away. I immediately screamed out his name and he smiled and waved. A short while later he came over to JP and I and shook our hands. JP spoke to him while I just stared, speechless. And no one else was paying Paul any mind. He was just chatting and I was just drooling! LOL!! (DEF the highlight of my night )JP told Paul to play hard and HE DID!!!

PvD came on banging and we were right in front with the bass pounding right through us. He opened with Nu-NRG - Butterfly and then here are some more songs, in no order. I don't know all the names but see if you can follow:

4 strings - Let it Rain
Rafferty & Kershaw - We Are Connected
the "I know you want me" song
Paul van Dyk - Nothing but You (only once! )
Michele Nicol - Time
Solid Sleep - Club Attack
Nu NRG - Kiss
Fingers Burnt - For a Devil
Kyau vs Albert - Velvet Morning
"silence" ?? but not Blackeight, something else i can't remember.

Scheisse! I will have to update this later, somehow I can't remember anything. JP can't ID for shit..he says "Oh that's the second song on the Global DJ Broadcast". FFS!!

Most importantly, Paul's LAST song was KILLER!!!! WE don't know what it was but I hope he plays it at MAYDAY! OMFG it put us on our asses and took all we had left. Then Judge Jules came on and we bounced.

Now off to party in Amsterdam for Queensday and then Mayday. I never saw Ian but the GTAs are AWESOME and I had so much fun! Not that I understand German so well yet, but it didn't matter. w00t! I must come back here soon!

Tschuss!
