Joshua Ryan - By Design
I bought this CD just when it came out and listened to it over and over again for days. I love it...Ryan has kept his spacey, symphonic sound but has gone more in the progressive direction than he has in the past. Some of it is as much listening music as it is dance music, with the first couple of tracks being a laid-back, groovy kind of break-beat (the two versions of Buildings Inbetween). From there it gets progressively darker and more progressive, with moody male vocals here and there. My favorite is "Yield" which is progressive on the underground and experimental side. So if you like the dark, progressive direction that a lot of music today is going in, you should really dig this. Very innovative, so you're not going to hear it and think that it sounds like everything else.
