when i am spinning, i find that i have to push the vinyl little bits to keep it in place. It doesnt sound that great, so is the solution is just to pitch it faster?

If you are having to keep pushing the record to keep up with the record on the other platter then it's obvious that you haven't got them running at the same bpm and adjusting the pitch is required.

Once you beatmatch them and don't notice any double beats etc then you're set
