Read This! Music production tips and tricks

I though that it would be cool if we had a space where we could gather all useful information like tips, tricks, links with tutorials, and these stuff for production.
Not much wondering or experimenting. Just useful info on how to achieve fx and sounds that most people needs, and how-to-do for much common types of loops/songs structures, and all the interesting things we discover when experimenting.
What do u people think?

Well, since i made the thread, its fair that im the first to contribute, lol!

Heres how to make one of these noise pads much used in so many songs:

Get a plain raw noise wav shape from whatever synth u hav.
Let it trough a simple BP Filter (Band Pass) with some or much Ressonance (to give a diferent feel) and tweak the Cut value so that only a thin noise sound comes out. So u can tweak and automate the Cut knob so that this noise sound circulates over the frequencies as you wish and make a instrument with it that meets what u want for the song
U can do the same with a thin saw/sine/square wav along with it if u want pitch in the sound.
Reeverb helps too.

For a pad, add some on the amp release filter and the amp attack filter. You can also use an LFO to modulate the filter cutoff or pitch as you mentioned earlier rather than automating it.

p.s. there is a thread above for this already. Try posting your stuff in there. It's a sticky already.

Hmmm, i know that thread but there was a time when it stopped for so much time that i didnt know it was moving on again, and bfore that, i saw so many techinical things bout synths and leads and missed tips bout layering and sequence and other needed elements, but i took a look now and it got more variety.
Guess i should post there from now on, thanx.

But im still missing percussion and beat stuff, i think people are forgeting it and only caring for leads and melodies

How about a sticky called "Sound design, Song design". Or something along those lines.

"Song design" is good. I think some people might find it a bit vague, maybe. What about "Song Structure and Synthesis"?
