big problem!!!! oh no!!!! help!

I all of a sudden am unable to run any programs! It sayd that the item cannot be found!! I ever try to run them from the folders they are in and they say they don't exist!! Nothing has been deleted!!
I recently got rid of a program called winampw.exe...could that be a problem??? any1 have any advice?? I really don't wanna format without backing up!!

That sounds like something a virus or a trojan could do.. U should scan ur comp with an antivirus software and also with some ad-/spyware software like ad-aware or search & destroy's spybot before formatting.

There are online virus scans which should still work.

yes you have a virus , it renames all your system and files and your kernal32 is trying to locate them, and of course your pc is trying to find winamp on start up, i suggest u run NERO or a CDR Program from DOS / WIN and burn everything you have , im not sure what the virus is called but i knew someone who had it,

yeap it ends up that I did have a virus. it's a kazaa network virus called W32/Hantana or W32/Hantaner er something like that. I eventually formatted and got AVG pro 6. done!! thnx!
