i don't know why i've always had this problem with fruity, but i can never get my wav files to load in it. I'm in Sound Forge, I make a sample, I can't use it. What am I doing wrong? i tried loading it as an audio clip, a sample, a wave traveller, it just doesn't work. anyone, have a clue...i need these samples in my sequencer hehehe. is there a certain setting i need to save them at in sound forge for them to work in fruity??? that's the only thing that i can think of.

i don't know if this will help but i'll try....

there are several different file types that use the same .wav extensions as the type you want

DVI/IMA ADPCM
Microsoft ADPCM
ACM Waveform
A/mu-Law Wave
Windows PCM

make sure u saved as Windows PCM

otherwise.. i really don't know... i don't have flstudio yet

just save your wav samples/any samples in a folder that you can see in your 'browser' within fruity

the dir of folders is flstudio > data > patches

i just add an extra folder eg. 'temp' or 'specific track name here samples' etc.

then just click 're-read structure' in fruity if its already open to have the new folder appear

Well, i never heard this bfore, but then, there must be something wrong with your wav codecs, try reinstalling it, also, like kewlness said, make sure u r using the same wav codecs. Windows PCM aways load in any program, its the standard codec

i'll try some of that stuff...just as a side note: i figured i would try and just play the wav forms in my media player and it didn't work either so it probably something wrong with the codecs. i'll reinstall some stuff.

By the way, a reintalling in your windows should solve the problem, its fast and easy, no need to format, just reinstalling over the one u r using now... U should try it

ok so i was thinking about it more and here is the real problem...i can use wav's in FL that i get off the web, but where i run into problems in here...i have a bunch of acapella's on mp3 that i want to cut up and use in my song, but for some reason when i cut it up and make wav files in sound forge those sample don't load...i see them in the folders, i can load them, but i don't get any sound and i can't see the wav form??? anymore ideas anyone??

Hum, so, if the problem is on the Soundforge, it gets harder to spot what can be going wrong there, but if this only happen in this case, it surely is something that u r doing or not doing.
If the saved wav file can be viewed/played in soundforge, but not other programs, maybe ur saving your file using some codec that your windows dont supports.
Also make sure your are using 16bit wav files, and not more...

alright...well now i just feel like a jackass hehehe....i think i've been saving the wav files at 24bit not 16 hehehehe. hopefully that is all that is wrong hehehe....summer here i come!!!!!


oh...is there a way to make the 24 bit ones work with fruity i.e. change some kinda audio setting or something?? just curious.

Fruity uses your Windows codec, if you hav a monster soundcard with proper divers and codecs installed, fruity will use it as well.
Forget 24bit sounds for a while, until u hav money to buy a very good soundcard.
And by the way, the standard media type is 16bit, its the quality depht that is used in audio CDs. More than that is useful only to conserve maximum quality when changing and resaving samples, and to backup your final masterized song file, mostly...
