Make sure the tonearm is securely fastened, as well as the headshell. Did you install the cartridges yourself? If so, you may want to re-mount the carts on your headshell...check the 4 connections from the cart to the headshell. I had this problem a while ago with some Shure M44Gs, as it turns out, I had a faulty cartridge.

I had this same problem too. Switch your input to phono instead of line.
