Ecstasy, a breakthrough for Parkinsons?

Scientists looking for a cure for Parkinsons Disease have found that Ecstasy may hold some of the answers.
A study was conducted at Manchester University where 'E' was given to Monkeys with the disease. The results took everyone by surprise!

Each of the Monkeys had been given L-dopa on a daily basis (a drug given to treat the disease). A side effect of this drug is the uncontrollable movement to the subject's limbs. However, after receiving a dose of ecstasy, the monkey's uncontrollable movements were either stopped all together or drastically reduced by up to 85%.

Scientists now believe their findings could help develop a new treatment for Parkinson's disease based on ecstasy.

The studies were prompted following a Panorama documentary documenting the effects the drug had on former stuntman Tim Lawrence's life.

Robert Meadowcroft, from Britain's Parkinson's Disease Society has warned sufferers against trying ecstasy stating that it is illegal and potentially dangerous'.

It's kind of an old story ... dunno why it's resurfacing now.

Edit: but at the same time whereas it may help those with parkinson's it may help cause parkinson's.

On a more serious note, if you truly want to help aid research in Parkinson's, Alzheimer's among many other diseases by doing nothing more than giving up your unused cpu cycles, visit this site http://folding.stanford.edu

... and hurry up and pass that shit
