DJs and drugs

am I being ignorant and naiive to think that the top DJs are doing barely any drugs? I mean I see tiesto, armin, pvd, ferry, sasha, oakey, etc all the top DJs and they look they really keep it clean

from what I understand pvd had some sort of anti-drug champaign and I saw an interview of armin where he said all he does is drink, but what about the others?

PvD and Diggers keep it really clean...not Sasha or Oakie, though!

There were days where deejays were known more for their drug consumption than their deejaying skills.

Sasha (one of the most famous cainers of all time, found drunk and coked out in a ditch in ibiza about 90 mins before a set and he went on to play the greatest set of his life)

Brandon Block
Alex P (both heavy drug abusers at times)

Marc Spoon (not really a dj imo but a true drug addict, got arrested for E in Ibiza)

Tall Paul (Cokehead)

Sandra Collins (cokehead from what i've heard)

Oakenfold (cokenfold to some)

Tiesto (cokehead)

i bet most deejays have done drugs at some point and some continue to do it. Heck it killed Ron Hardy and Larry Levan (both house godfathers, hardy was an inspiration to ppl that started techno and levan was an inspiration to many). Both died because of their drug habits that caught up with them.

I just reckon that if the DJ's are doing their job then the drugs they consume (or dont) is their business

sorry for bringing this up ... but isn't it true that many of the top djs spin their best mixes while 'stoned' or 'high' or whatever ... it seems like when u are in that sedated state, the sounds and beats you are spinning are going at an eccelectic pace through your ears, so u know what to spin next ... just my opinion ..

Please expound on your stories!! I love this shit! Funny, I've wondered the same thing for a long time too. Drugs do crazy things, love to see a DJ messed up!

Alcohol is a drug too. So I guess every DJ is guilty of that sin. Just because its legal doesnt mean its healthy or right. Alcohol alters brain chemistry in many ways like euphoria inducing drugs out there. Its just all on different levels.

i don't agree with naming and shaming dj's and there drug use. I think it's there private life and should not be splattered all over the internet...

i don't really care if a dj takes drugs, as long as s/he plays a good set. i just thik it's a bit pathetic people wanting to know names of drugged up dj's
