Question whats ur style?

i was just wondering how most of you guys beatmatch. Do you...

a. bestmatch using the pitchfader only (never touching the platter)
b. using the pitchfader and touch the platter sometimes
c. turn the platter manually, while adjusting the pitchfader

ive read that your not even supposed to touch the platter while beatmatching..but it looks so hard..

let me know what you guys do

thanks

i touch the pitch dots to slow down, push the center of the label to speed it up (or sometimes give the spindle a twist, sounds smoother)

but i am trying to get away from that, and only use pitch fader, it's far superior in terms of sound.

Ya, that's right... but, I don't think slowing the center of the platter down makes that awfull much of noice...

pitch fader only now; still not good enough to get that exact precision though

depends on what your playing that will allow how much you can get away with.

if there is heaps of synth try to only use the fader.

when first beatmatching a track i usually touch the platter. once its close i do fine adjustments with the pitch fader. i rarely touch the platter while in a mix though.. only when something really goes wrong. but pitch floating is where its at.

lol, no way. I never even knew that just using the fader was an actual method more beat-matching. I tried it recently and dismissed as the wrong thing to do.
