Question regarding mix in CoolEdit

Hey everybody.
I've got a question regarding exporting mixes in/out of CoolEdit. I was wonderig how I can clear up the quality and make the mix sound more clear and bright...I did a test and burned a preliminary copy, but it sounded really muddy and opaque...I want my mix to sound clear and bright.
I dunno if it's the recording from my crappy mixer onto my MD, or the recording from my MD to the computer, but I was wondering if there was a function that anybody knew of in CoolEdit where I can brighten up my mix so that it sounds the way it's supposed to.
Thanks everybody in advance.

BTW, here is the tracklisting...A very laidback, chill, uplifting melody based trance mix, some old and new tunes, it's for 2 of my chic friends; as you can see, they are into vocals.

Cultivate - Broken Pieces
Hydra - Affinity(Thrillseekers' Dub)
En Motion - Getting Away With It(Thrillseekers' Vocal mix)
Accadia - Blind Visions(Club mix)
Free Radical - Surreal(En Motion remix)
Goldenscan - Sunrise(Pulser 6AM remix)
Cygnus X - Positron 2002(Vocal edit)
Corderoy - Sweetest Dreams(Greg Murray vocal remix)
Paul van Dyk - Together We Will Conquer
Young Parisians - U Write The Rules(Solarstone remix)
Oceanlan - Beautiful Together
Solar Stone - 7 Cities(Liquid Summer remix)

Some gorgeous tunes there for sure

Anyway, lets try applying a standard problem solving method to your situation.

Does the mix sound dull on MD?
Do other things record well off MD (or other sources) into your computer?

Really, you should get things right at the source rather than trying to patch them up later. But, if you're desperate for more life in your recordings you might research the following plugins:
- BBE Sonic Maximiser
- Prosoniq mixCiter
- PSP Mix Pack

There are others (that I can't think of right now), maybe someone else will post other suggestions.

I would record straight into cool edit....the more times you transfer things, the more opportunities for error there are. Just plug your mixer straight into your sound card and record.
