This, in my opinion, pretty much sums up everything that's wrong with political correctness - focussing on and nitpicking over superficial specifics and completely ignoring the underlying problem. Call me cynical, but I don't believe that changing the colour-scheme of a 400 year old flag is likely to fix the much more ancient problem of racism.

It's almost like hate crimes in America. Sure, people get punished because of their hate for a minority, yet the minority feels more like a minority because of hate crime laws. They feel as though they get special treatment or something. That new flag change is definitely politically incorrect.

The odd thing about that is that I think I read a while back that even some black southerners don't want the confederate flag removed. They associate it with the South and they consider themselves southerners or something like that.
