Hip Hop favs

Im not gonna even bother with trying to post this in the Music Discussion forum because of all the fucking ignorant "tranceaddicts" who know nothing other than trance, so I'll post it here where everybody comes together.
For you hip hop lovers,I was wondering what songs particularly stuck out for you. I'm not talking about commercial shit, I'm talking about deep, real hip hop like GangStarr's "Moment of Truth", Jeru the Damaja's "Me, Not the Paper"...you know, songs that have meaning.
Or even tracks that have really good rhymes, like any song by Punchline and Wordsworth.
Lets see em!

Let's see now:

The Herbaliser feat. Latyrx - 8 Pt. Agenda

Just dug out Xen Cuts (Ninja Tune compilation) and rediscovered this.It just might be my fav hiphop tune ever. A dark and urban production from Ollie Teeba and Jake Wherry that just grabs you from the first cut and doesn't let go,while Latyrx bounce their flows off each other with surgical precision and rock solid authority.

Kardinal Offiscal - Ol' Time Killing

Heard this on Underground Airplay vol.1 (DJ Spinbad mixcd on Rawkus). Has a great contrast between ragga and fierce nu skool hiphop, all backed by a bouncy and catchy production.

Gang Starr - Discipline

Can't leave this one out.First Gang Starr-tune I ever heard, and from that moment Guru's incredibly authoritative lyrics and flow and Premier's superb production skills had me.All time fav for me personally.

Quasimoto - The Unseen LP

What a fucking ace album.Madlib smokes out in the studio again, and the result is some seriously trippy stuff.Hazy and random productions, smothered in weird samples, heavy scratching and phat bass. And rapping against yourself on helium is just something that only Madlib could come up with. Any track on this album is solid gold, but honorable mentions go to Green Power and Microphone Mathematics for amazing synergy between lyrics and production, and to Loop Digga Pt.1 for a very interesting concept for a hiphop tune.

I need to refresh my collection soon, haven't bought any hiphop for a long time now.

On another note, I know you dont want to get flamed, but I think its really dumb when people post music related topics in the chill out room just because it isnt necessarily trance Just ignore the idiots who flame, hip hop is muisc and should be treated as such.

word...don't worry about shallow low life losers who don't truly understand that there is more to music than just "Trance"

anyway some of my favorite songs fo all time:

Nas - new york state of mind, the world is yours, it aint hard to tell
dr dre - fuck wit dre day, nuthing but a g' thang
tupac - only god can judge me now, california love, all bout u, dear mama, it can go on and on
Biggie Smalls - big poppa, going back to cali, notorious thugs, things done changed, etc etc etc
tribe called quest - scenario, jazz, award tour, can i kick it
big daddy kane - smooth operator
the luniz - i got 5 on it
public enemy - rebel without a pause
LL cool J - mama said knock you out
ice cube - it was a good day
Pete rock & CL smooth - return of the mecca, T.R.O.Y.

hell yeah

finally some TA's who have respect for the mic.

i think that most mainstream, radio, hip hop is meaningless and dry. with the exception of wu tang and nas and eminem, no one really has anything to say. this is not to say that the beats are all bad though. so basically i listen to the underground at home, but i dont mind a dre beat at the club.

so if youre looking for that underground i would suggest:

atmosphere- god loves ugly, bass and the movement
binary star- reality check, honest expression, indy 500
jedi mind tricks- animal rap, blood runs cold, heavenly divine, immaculate conception
living legends- rabbit hole, arms, night prowler
zion I- silly puddy

check out binary star especially if youre into gangstarr

I think hip hop is music, I also think that if you wanna discuss hip hop do it in a hip hop forum not in a trance one!
i don't find it strange if you get flammed for a topic like this.... i love trance and i find it very hard to listen to other kinds of music, I use to do but trance is just way much better... =)
