I had a problem a while ago that i coulndt mix some off my trax because they were in different speed even if i changed the BPM....
Since some of the trax where "mixable" i didnt know what to do but now i have realised that those trax already had the same BPM from the beginning.....I ussualy press "Manually enter BPM" and there i enter the BPM and then close that window......is that wrong cause it doesnt work....Visually the BPM changes but you can hear clearily that it doesnt......

I don't understand the question.

I also manually change the BPM's in MixMeister. For example, I have 7 songs, I put them into the playlist, then I go to the graph and change all the labeled BPM lines to 140, manually. That *does* change the actual speed, doesn't it? I sure hope it does, otherwise that prog isn't worth much!

Remember: the blue one is volume, the red one is BPM, I think. Are you changing the right one??

The problem with MixMeister is getting the tracks lined up at the right positions. Sometimes your mix may sound bad because you matched the "front-beat" with the "back-beat", instead of 2 "front-beats." In that case you have to play around with dragging different boxes. Maybe this is your problem?

Question

Im quite a newbie but what is "Front beat" and "Back beat" well as i said i can easily do very nice mixes between Trax that already has the
sam BPM....But i cant change the BPM of trax...when i right klick on them (I dont do that on the playlist, is that the prob?) i choose
"Manually enter BPM" and fill in the BPM i want in the little window there.....And then i can se when i put the track into my mix that it should be for exampel 140 BPM but it isnt....it says so but i can clearily hear that 2 trax with 140 BPM isnt the same speed.. If i take some Rave song with 300 BPM and change it into 140 i cant hear any difference......its still 300 BPM although it says 140 BPM on the screen....get it?

hmm... all I can say is, works for me...

Last night I changed a 140-bpm song to 80-bpm, and it got as slow as I expected...

Maybe you should write them about a bug in their software?

Never having used or seen Mixmeister, I can only speculate...

What i think you are probably doing is that when you enter the BPM of the track, you are actually telling the program that the song is e.g. 140BPM. What I mean is, if you have manually worked out what the BPM of the track is, you would then enter this value so that the program can then use this as a reference to change the pitch of the track by the right amount when you want it to have a different BPM. (Hopefully this is making sense!)

What you need to do is to work out the actual BPM of each song, and enter this in the way that you have been doing. The program probably then stores this in some kind of file. There should then be another option to change the BPM of the song you want to play. In Virtual Turntables, this is NOT done by entering the BPM you want the song to be, but by matching it to the other song, perhaps this is done in the same way in Mixmeister.

However, your best bet is to take skywarp's advice and mix by ear!

Cool

OK, let's go through this step-by-step.

1. Add some songs to your playlist.
2. Look at the graph below. You should see wave plots, and a RED line UNDER the plot. This red line has a marker that means the BPM, for example, 142, or 125.
4. Click the RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON on that marker.
5. Choose "Edit"
6. Enter a new number, the BPM that you want.

That should work! It works for me....

Smoking ..umm..something "Front beat" and "Back beat

I am also a newbie to Mix meister, but I think this program kicks ass. Anyway, it is the first time I heard of "Front beat" and "Back beat" expression, but I think that it happens when songs seem to have different beat, even though they have the same BPM. Here is my explanation: even though the songs have the same beat, the beats are not lined up, I had lots of problems with it in the beginning. What happens is that the beats of both songs are alternating sort of speak, that, beats are in-between each other. (Let me know if you don't understand me) There is a very simple solution to it. make sure you use "beat mixing" and go to Tools | Snap Length to | and choose "eighth note"... now drag the edge of the beat bars just a bit to whatever side. Now on the opposite ends of the beat bars, drag the edge in the same direction just a bit. It will snap it to eighth notes and the beats will be lined up. I might do a tutorial on this, let me know what you think about this idea.

Hmmm..............

When i mix i always set the Posisition to 8 measures cause i think it works better......i can hear where to put the the Track to get it right and i always disable the "Snap the beat" thing on the menu cause i want to do it myselfs so i can have anything where i want it.......When i let the program do things by itself it sounds really bad
