OK BACK Got Trance, Mixed June 21st 2003. Might do a bit of rolling commentry on it. I'm realyl fucknig tired and grumpy and shit. This could get me going really well or not, not holding back on this...
1. 0.00 Third Earth - Scott Bond vs Solarstone
Wow that's playing faster then I'm used to. Breaks down, still fast. Ok, so it's going to be a fast set. /me looks @ the TL again, yeah it is a fairly up beat TL.
2. 7.54 Sunrise - Goldenscan (Ronski Speed mix)
Mix from above track goes a LITTLE bit off beat, and is pulled out in phrase but a bar early. Nice mix in length and volume/transition.
3. 13.46 Inca - Midway
Bit of a weird mix. Once again in time/phrase. The volumes for Midway seem to quite when it first comes in, and it stays that way; 2 quite. surise goes away, and it's a little quite, then the last bar of surise plays, and the volume for inca is still low. Shite this is fast as well...it is a fast mix; confirmed. Nothing wrong with that
4. 19.23 Tranceformation - Push
slightly out of beat mix here, and the volumes of tranceformation for the scream kill what was left of inca, which was slowly being fadded out. Not very subtle mix.
5. 25.54 Rococco - Kansai
Sounds a bit out of phrase, but nice mixing
6. 31.31 Mistral - GTR
Mix is beat matched, but out of phrases by 4 bars, would of been a TOP mix otherwise. Sounds like mistral is slowed down A LOT just after it's mixed?? A general tempo drop around this track. The flow of the mix had been getting faster and faster, this track pulls it back down.
7. 36.53 Now is the time - Darren Tate vs Mike Koglin
solid mix!!!
8. 43.51 Mondial - Neo & Farina
Sounds like Now is the time had pretty much so broken down before this mix started, but the mix was on and in time
9. 50.37 Club Attack - Solid Sleep (TPOD Paul van Dyk remix)
another nice mix cept mondial was pulled out a bit too early...1 phrase?
10. 56.57 Air of love - Vector 7
Not beat matched properly, really quick mix, no transition, just fade out
11. 62.00 Butterfly - Nu NRG
Mix clashes on the high hats. nice phasing tho
12. 68.09 Carrera 2 - Three Drives
A fairly boring mix in regards to where it's mixed. Carrera 2 could of done with a longer mix, to get the song going, as it's got a long-ish intro. Spot on beat matching
Time to go eat lunch, about 2 pass out....wanted 2 get upto Yet Another Dub but meh.
Like the track selection, not to hard, not to soft, not to vocal. Over all feeling with the set is it doesn't go anywhere. the bpm goes up then comes back down again, the sits around the same level. The mixing/phrasing is good, but can be better, and i'm sure it will get better. Thank you VERY much for the mix, hopefully you don't think i've been rude criting it too much.
