Thanks Davinox. There are some contemporary issues that I am concerned about hitting on for that reason in particular. Some that I'm not sure how to go about yet because of the fact that in 10 years things may be different.
But then, this book will be written to hopefully inspire change.
Other issues that I feel may not be suitable for this type of book, but I feel still need to be looked at...
- Armani & Banana Republic & Abercrombie, in themselves, are not wrong at all. In fact I dress in Polo & Armani daily. I have a problem with the way this style is displayed by the media as the only style anyone should be wearing and if they don't they are poor or not worthy of some things. A way of dress or a type of car does not in ANY WAY AT ALL define a person. Today, media defines a person. I can think of ways to correct that, but it would not be at all accepted by 90% of the world!
- Religion as it exsists in modern form is complete bullshit. I am an athiest, but I have complete respect for those who do beleive in a supreme diety. My personal beleif is that people who are devout christians or muslims or whatever are only so because they NEED to be. If they didn't beleive they are supposed to please someone, they would feel as if they have no purpose in life. That is my opinion though and I don't push it on anyone. People should be able to beleive what they want to, no matter what is right. (As I said, I know there will be opposition to what I say)
There are many other things such as these that I would love to write entire chapters about, but I'm not sure if it would take away from the effectivness of the book.

you could even take an indirect route if you would like to branch out to many different oppinions.
A posibility would be to write it in a first-person view of an imaginary politician/tax paying citizen/Abercrombie-type place worker/etc, and have his reviews share your own.
Books that just say "my oppinion is such and such", unless written by a scholar or expert, are usually disregarded. you could do such things, but prepare to research your facts very thoroughly and expect little in return for your efforts.
but if a certain idea comes to mind, a way you want to write it, go for it. writers should write for themselves, not for public oppinion. go with your gut.
