Kind of a weird TT question...

Kind of a dumb question....one that I can pretty much answer for myself, but I want to hear some second opinions. Right now I have one Technics MKII, and I'm looking to get one more TT next week. My immediate response is to go out and get another 1200, but the other half of me wants to go and get another TT entirely. I've been looking a lot at the Vestax PDX2000, and am really liking it. Don't get me wrong, I love my 1200, but I am kind of itching to get the Vestax to change it up, and get the feel for a new, high quality TT. I'm not sure what I'm really asking here, but does anyone have any thoughts on buying two different TT's. Half of me wants a symetrical setup, the other half wants to change it up. Any advice or input is appreciated.

go for duplicates.... say for example u know how to beatmatch a particular record like the back of your hand (perfectly)!... wwhen u try to pull that off on a different model, it's gonna be much harder. Just get the same one dude, don't get too fancy on yourself. you will become COnFZ'eD.

yeah, no question, get another tech.

now, for your 3rd table, then you might want something special. I am thinking of getting a TTX1 for my third deck.

I would also suggest that you get another tech and there are two reasons for this. First, Techs are very very good tables, and it would really suck if you go buy another table and not like it as much as your tech. You'll regret your purchase and only if you are sure that you can return it (with minimal or no cost to you) should you actually try buying another table. Second, every table has different wow and flutter and torque ratings. This means that each brand of table will beatmatch differently, so you will really have to consider whether you want to have to master two different types of beatmatching in order to get a decent mix. If you stick with the same brand/model, then chances are, if they slow down or speed up from what they are supposed to, they should at least do it at the same rate. This will help you learn to beatmatch better and quicker.

As JohnSmith stated, for your third table...go for a table that has features or looks etc that you really want to use/have. But for you primary decks, get duplicates.

thanks, I never even thought of that. But, you guys don't think it makes sense to get the feel for another table? I don't know, I guess I;m reaching here, cause the Vestax looks like a really cool table. Anyone out there see ANY sense in buying a different table, or does it seriously not make any sense at all? Thanks.

This is no sense is having 2 different tables.

If you want to get the feel for another turntable, rent it first.

If you're not gonna scratch or anything, stick with the techs.
