For awhile now I've been running the audio from my computer to my home stereo using a Stereo-Link. However, my stereo receiver detects the output from stereo-link only as simple analog 2-channel stereo. I could just set my receiver for prologic, but it just doesn't sound right playing 2-channel stereo with prologic decoding.

And now for my question, are there any sound cards for the PC that can output audio digitally to a stereo receiver?

my motherboards onboard sound has a spdif thingy (which i asume is what your wanting) i think the latest creative audioligies have this to
