Gwill Morris @ Sweetchilli
Last night saw me enter the dendy once more for Gwill Morris who is also known as Main Element, and 1/2 of Ogenki Clinic(James Holden being the other half).
Upon my arrival @ 1am, I was greated with some smells like Freelander being busted out by Trent Anthony. Trent's set was crazy, but very a very interesting experience. It went from trancey to deep and dark, with a little break being thrown in. Considering most DJ's work up, not down, I was a little confused. Trent, I'd say must of done this on purpose, as he's not a new DJ, and he's not silly either. By the end of Trent's set I was really hoping that Trent wasn't setting things up for Gwill, as with Gwill being known for producing on the trancey tip, and that's what I was there for.
Gwill rocked up about 30 mins early and had a bogy in the crowd, and a quick chat to the d00d from Infusion (OMG!). All too soon Gwill was up, and the melodies began. It was really good to see Gwill in the mood and groving about to the tracks, and enjoying the attention he was being given. Some of the tracks played by Gwill are below:-
Infusion vs Kate Bush - Running up that hill
Holden - A Break in the Clouds (Main Mix)
Infusion - Legacy
Dave Grahan - Dirty Sticky Floor (Sliencer(sp?) Mix)
Holden - Nothing (93 Returning Mix)
Nathan Fake - Outhouse
The last track was a new production by Gwill, called Time, and we heard the vocal mix. An amazing track, a combination of Take me down with A break in the clouds/solscite.
All too soon it was over and the man was back in the crowds dancing a bit more and being thanked. Gwill was rather poliet not to crack the shits after 1 guy continusly bumped the free standing tables and also just being a general drunk and being loud and rude
Casper bounced up after Gwill and took us down on a deep and chuggy session, with the odd vocal here and there. It was a tad deep for my ultimate liking, but it was still quite enjoyable. No trainspotting was done :P
Helen: Where did you run off to during the night?
lethal: Pleasure as always!
rest of syd.au.ta.: Where were you? (coughs*webmister*coughs)
