My new idol: Christiano RONALDO!

OMG OMG OMFG I DIE!

Did anyone of you guys see the Man Utd - Bolton game?

God damnit I was impressed by our new supertalent Christiano Ronaldo.

Only a few minutes after Fergie puts him on the pitch he gets pulled down and Man Utd. gets awarded with a penalty kick, which v. Nistelroy for once misses.

A few minutes later he more or less sets up the 2-0 goal, and shortly after that he also sets up the fourth (I think) United goal...Besides that he made some really impressive moves...

Djemba-Djemba also impressed me although none of them got to play that much.

AND, who the heck misses Beckham anyways? Did you see Giggs free-kick?

GLOOORY GLOOORY MAN UNIIITED!

Yes he was good.

But still DAMN CHEATERS!!!!!!!

that 3-0 goal was so off-side.
Waterhead Nistelrooy was 5 m off-side and he did touch the ball to Scholes.

Yes he is amazing. But still only 18 years old, maybe the pressure will get to him. He got the number 7 shirt, a £ 12 milion transfer, he's already called up for Portugals international squad. He's got alot to live up to. Ferguson will probably be very careful with him.

He was awesome! His movements are quick and precise!

Does anyone else feel a bit sorry for Bolton? I thought they played well and had their chances, until the flood gates opened

Bolton played well but were sloppy towards the end defensively. Naturally people jump to the conclusion that Ronaldo changed the game but Bolton were tiring, it was the first match of the season after all.

It wasn't quite the thrashing that the scoreline suggests, so I do feel sorry for Bolton. Obviously Scholes was offside, and frankly Ronaldo shouldn't have got a penalty because he made such a bloody meal of a simple shirt-tugging. If anything refs should be booking people like that, foreign flair in our league is good but if they start behaving like sly little bastards they should be booked without hesitation. If Bolton had converted some of their earlier chances they could have defended and grinded out a draw. Man U looked very dangerous coming forward, but I thought they looked a little exposed at the back, letting Bolton have so many chances. A more clinical strike force would have tucked those away and whilst Man Utd have enjoyed a good pre-season they have conceded in virtually every match.

Ronaldo looks like one of the most exciting prospects around at the moment, but I'd have to see more of him in the Premiership first. He had bags of pace and determination but let's not forget the lad only played 30 mins. Let's see him keep that pace up for 90 minutes in the fastest league around before we get carried away. Also, he had bags of flair but if he keeps trying the same stunts then sooner or later defenders will know how to cope with him. I don't look forward to him playing against us, espescially with our obvious weakness on the right. Maybe a few crunch tackles from Bowyer will put him in his place

I don't understand what all the fuss is about...I can admit that Ronaldo overplayed when he got that penalty kick, but never the less, there was no doubt about it what so ever...that was a pentaly kick, end of story...

And yes I agree, surely v. Nistelroy was offside on Scholes' goal...that should have been blown off...but who am I to complain...

the dude's from madeira island

and the fucking press here won't shut the fuck up about him, it's like he already won the world player of the year award or something :\

he's got a shitload of potential, but with the press kissing his ass like this there's a fair possibility that the fame will go up to his head. though the first game was a bit of a shocker, played at his finest, which isn't quite normal when starting at one of the biggest clubs in the world, at the age of 18.

and his name doesn't have an H.

christ the guy played 30 minutes of football against an average bolton side.

lets pass judgement when he starts beating the likes of maldini or campbell with that ease.
