How do I keep one tracks riff from spilling into the next one?

Isn't there a function where I can make sure that the sound doesn't echo into the next bar?

A time function or somethin?

For instance, at the end of my song the synth will just echo 3 to 4 bars beyond where my notes are.

I wanna contain the sound in the measure.

..Thanks..

Sound reverberates and carries naturally. I need to contain the sound inside the last measure so that it doesn't spill into the next section.

I need the next measure in this track to be silenced.

Say i have four tracks running along side of of each other. Every X represents a measure.......

xxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxx

The red X's indicate what I want muted, whereas the 5th X in track 3 is where the last note was touched.

The sound spills into where the red X's are. And needs to be corrected.

Read This! Muting

If you have a version of Logic that has automation (from 5.0 I think)you can insert a mute or a very quick fade. Pull down the track from the bottom left in the arrange page and make sure you can view automation. Click under the track name and you'll see the option under "main".

Good luck !
