A stupid question but the answer is yet simple which I'm not exactly sure of...anybody who knows why cats purr?

what the fucking gash is going on with this thread. The topic says,
"Why do cats spin?" and if u hover the mouse over the thread in order to preview it, the thread content at the end says "Anybody know why cats are spinning." So im like wtf! so i click the link, it opens, and ur post is something totally differnt.

anyway.. in answer to ur question, 1 theory is that purring is that its to do with the social communication, apparently created by the movement of air in spasms through contractions of the diaphragm.
