Sports on College Apps (in America)
For those of you who are in, were in or are about to enter college...do admissions offices like to see sports on an application? Does it help your chances of getting in?
Thanks.

i believe your best shot at getting into any top notch school in america is if your an native american female athelete from a broken home (with decent scores of course, but doesn't need to be spectacular)

Check my status, smart guy.
Adding upon that...does that sport have to be in high schoool, or can it be an outside league?

It can be outside of school...even though putting "tons" of extra curricular activities can and usually do help you, sometimes you can have too many.
I know at a number of colleges/universities admissions officers sometimes will reject "borderline" students with too many extra curriculars because, in their eyes, you were not focusing enough on your academics.
If you are still in high school this is a question you should ask your guidance counselor. Possibly the only thing they are good for is giving advice on admissions applications.
Being a Native American woman who is a blind paraplegic and comes from a broken home is still the best option though.
