Sad Tony De Vit - 5 years RIP

To some people, you may never have heard of tony, or had the privilege of hearing one of his sets or global underground CDs, but the man was a genius, and I'm posting here cos its the 5th anniversary of his death today, those who don't know heres the story

quote:
Tony De Vit sadly passed away on Thursday morning, 2nd July 1998, after bone-marrow failure and bronchial pneumonia, following a recent case of severe exhaustion brought on by an acute case of food poisioning.

The guy played across the globe, and the hardhouse you hear now is nothing as good as how he played, he took it to the masses, and for those who respect his work like me, it's a great loss, his technical ability was immense, he can still mix better in his deathbed than a lot of 'top class' dj's

Thanks for everything Tony, We still miss you

Are you all ready

Gone but not forgotten

There was a dj

who actually finished 2nd in dmc world mixing comp...3 yrs in a row. The 3rd year he dressed up in drag and was dubbed britain's hard luck story. He was trade's resident in trade owned by laurence malice and he got very very big. He taught fergie how to mix and is basically responsible for making fergie.

He died in 1998 under somewhat crazy circumstances because most ppl think that he had AIDS or HIV (one of the two) but it was never confirmed nor denied.

His b.f is fergie's manager

Remarkable skill he had...always be remembered for his skills on the decks.

/me raises his galss to the UK Hard House master

Tony DeVit blurred the line btween HH and Trance alot more then producers do these days. All his songs would still be floor fillers at any club these days, and his influence in new Producers like those of the Tidy Trax label is still felt (hence the new TDV remixes were blessed with every so often). This man still does alot for the culture and sound even tho its only his memory now. But his influence will live on for a few generations of dj's/producers.
