Cheap Headphones

So I'm looking for my first pair of "starter" headphones and doing some research pulled me up with these two:

http://www.amazon.com/Marathon-Djh-...9671172&sr=1-34

http://www.amazon.com/Koss-UR40-Col...89670299&sr=1-1

I've heard Koss has good quality for the cheap price, but I haven't read too much about the Marathon brand. Statistically though, the Marathon headphones look great, with a 5 - 30,000 Hz frequency response. And being on sale makes them even more affordable. Was wondering if you guys had any opinions on either of these brands or particular models? Or any other suggestions in this price range (Under 60USD).

Thanks!

5-30.000khz response is bullshit, i don't even think is true but take for granted that you don't hear below 15hz for sure and that you most probably don't hear pass 20khz.

This are exactly like Technics 1200 but cheaper, i used them some time ago and i can tell you that are worthy for that low price, i'd say they cost 20$ but can compete with 50$ headphones.

well i think everybody should know that although you can see local djs or pro djs (in ads) wearing skullcandys, this headphones are very flamboyant but the tech inside is worth 2 pence

Yeah, never had any interest in Skullcandy anyways. Any other advice from any others?

You might want to check out the Sennheiser HD 202 headphones. They aren't marketed as "dj headphones", but they would work. I recently bought a pair for general listening and used them while I was recording a set once. They sound good, are comfortable, and are dirt cheap.

Yeah, thanks. I saw those but I wasn't sure how solid it was to buy cheap Sennheisers.

Oh man, I'm so gonna get torched for recommending this, but please, hear me out.

Go to your local RadioShack and look for these headphones...

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images...L500_AA300_.jpg

They're only $19 a piece at my local store, and I purchased 2 of them because they were so impressive. Each ear piece has it's own volume knob too.

You have nothing to lose man, you have 30 days to return it if you don't like them.
