You know me and my hard on for polls ... current gallup polls show a distinct shift in opposition against laws that violate civil liberties and those who think the patriot act is an ok response to terrorism.

I second that thought (the Patriot Act one not the hard on for polls thing )

Anything with a name like "Patriot Act" sets off alarm buzzers inside my skull. I see legislated "patriotism" as something akin to wearing a red armband while marching in lockstep through Berlin in the late 1930s.
