Smiley DJ mixers and prices

well ive made the decision to buy myself some turntables and a mixer and start spinning for real. mp3 mixers got old, fast. i wont settle for anything less than technics, but due to fact that i desperately need a new computer (my old pc fried and Im on a loaned pc at the moment), I need to try and find a high quality mixer for as little money as I can. I had my eye on a DJM 500, the cheapest I could find it for was 750. Can anyone reccomend a quality mixer for a decent price, or point out a store with dirt cheap prices?

First off...
If your just starting to DJ don't get a mixer w/ a bpm counter
its' just cheating yourself
if your low on budget i would advise you to get the
Stanton RM3...
a VERy good mixer for its price
all the standard features
nice and solid mixer from stanton
for $230USD.. i don't think aynthing can compare at that price!

djm500/600 is a good mixer but i don't think you'll need such an epxensive piece of equipment if your just starting off!
you won't really have any use for all the channels.. the bpm counter is sorta cheating... sampler? you won't need this yet, though u might want to use it in the future...
and hell they look nice but also have a hefty price tag..

.

i know there are great alternatives, but my idea is that if im gonna spend a whole lotta money, i might as well spend a little more and get something that will last me a long long time.

as for the bpm couter, i knew ahead of time it was best to change your bpm's by ear, so i wont go wasting money on that

anyways thanks for the advice

If you want a real quality mixer, get a A&H Xone 32... it's about the same price as the djm 500, its quality is one of the best in the world, it's really durable and reliable, very comfortable and has a killer filter section!

here's a pic...

Yeah, they're great mixers... but they're very very expensive!

Rane MP-2016 - 1200$, Rane XP-2016 (EQ' section) - 650$
Rane MP-44 - 1100$
