Smile Tongue Shall we bash this? [Eurodance 1991-1998]

OK, now ... this is a vert sensitive topic, so before you put a dagger in me or yell CHEESE and fill up this thread with assorted cheese cool pics, check this out ... Why do we bash eurodance so much? Yes, the NEW eurodance junk is very cheesy, but pre-1999 tracks shouldn't be called cheese, but respectively called classic eurodance. I've been hooked onto this one cd for months now, listening to it once in a while, but its so good! It's a 1995 release, called DMA [Dance Music Authority] DANCE vol 1: eurodance.
SNAP - Rhythm Is A Dancer
CAPTAIN HOLLYWOOD - More & More
ALEXIA PHILLIPS - I Never Needed
T-SPOON - Where R U Now
DOUBLE YOU - Run To Me
DEFINITION OF JOY - Stay With Me 4 Ever
CARTOUCHE - Touch The Sky
OUTTA CONTROL - I Wanna Feel The Music
ICE MC - Think About The Way
among others.

Great tracks, dont you think?

Normally I bash euro trash....but this is not euro trash..it was euro in the golden days....and that is what I grew up on

I grew up on dr.alban, the loft, the real mcCoy, fun factory, herbie and others. Hell I own all 3 real mcCoy albums and stuff..it is great...oh btw...mike koglin did euro...as a keyboardist.....if you look closely on the best of dr.alban 1990-1997...you see as backup musicians..jam and spoon.

Talking torontotrance - WOW!!!

WOW, thats the way I see it ... the golden years of music. And the year 1997 was probably the last year of great eurodance ... I love Culture Beat, 2 Unlimited, Snap, DJ Company, and many more from 1991-1998 that did eurodance. It was just a golden age, thats a perfect word to describe that. And I JUST FINISHED LISTENING TO DR ALBAN - LET THE BEAT GO ON ON THE SAME CD THAT I MENTIONED!!! PHAT TRACK!!!

I got a lot of eurodance from that era. Love Fun Factory and Real McCoy ..... automatic lover .... i wanna be with you ....

Euro was bigger back then and the tracks were actually decent in the GOLDEN ERA of euro. Euro was euro and it did not pretend to be trance or anything else and the stuff that was coming out of Germany and Sweden during that time was amazing. Remember the real mcCoy had 3 songs in the top 10 in the us charts in 1995, which was unheard of and all 3 went number 1. Another Night, Runaway (MY ALL TIME EURO FAVE) and Automatic Lover.

I love those tracks myself ... I own all his singles and I like his duets with Rockell .... and Rockell was great too. Remember the Chris Sheppard's Pirate Sessions? hehe ....

Thumbs up WOW, you TAs are great ......

WOW. When I started this thread, I expected a lot of bashing and violence and ... stuff. I cant believe there's so many TAs out there that feel the same way about classic eurodance music. Those were some great years of dance music ... that i wont forget.

Thanks a lot, TAs~!

This is the kind of stuff I used to stay up late to listen to (late back then was like 11pm-2am) when "Open House Party" was on the local pop radio station.

This stuff was popular back then in the states but fizzled away. I can't even stand listening to "Open House Party" anymore...a bunch of cheesy songs and stupid ass "remixes" which have one or 2 things different from the original song.

Ah the good old days...

Real McCoy - Run Away has a special place for me just because it was one of the first songs that got me into electronic dance music. Some of it sounds a little cheesy to me now but I still like it.
