Pioneer DJM600 effects unit vs. EFX-500

does anyone have experience with both of these pieces of equipment?

i currently own a djm, and i LOVE the effects on it, but some of the extra features that the EFX unit has just sound farkin tasty.

does anyone own a EFX-500 and think its worth the cash? or should i just stick with the basic effects on my djm..

I own a 600 too, love it, and love the effects, but i've seen people using the efx alot, and it looks badass. I saw someone use two of them once, it was amazing. I think I gotta go play with one and decide if i want one or not, I about stretching what I can do with the 600 effects. I was thinking of going Kaoz pad, but I hear they are kinda tricky to use in cetain situations.

Hey,

I've got an EFX 500, but haven't used the DJM600 so can't compare them.

The effects I use the most are "Jet" (white noise that you change the pitch of with the jogwheel), "Zip" (which allows you to make it sound like you've slowed down the vinyl like crazy, but keeps the same beat), both with the jogwheel.
The other side of the thing is beat triggered, the most popular over there are "Flanger" (Like Jet except you don't need to wiggle the wheel), and "Delay". You can do some pretty cool things with "Delay" because you can feed the output back into the input, creating an endless loop. I've whacked the delay on, turned the effect up full, then put the needle at the start of the record and re-mixed the song into itself, all in 32 beats!

Mostly though I just use the BPM counter to make sure I'm not making the BPM creep up, and occasionally put some 'delay' echoes in.

Don't know how this compares to the DJM600 effects bits, but I'm sure you can have some fun with that as well
