First of all that describes how the World Wide Web is shit. The internet and the Web are very different things. I believe that no one should be alowed to use the internet/Web without knowing that diffrence. The internet is the global network wich is the backbone for the Web. The internet allows you to do work from home. The internet allows you to connect to almost any computer in the world. This is what the www stands for it describes that you are looking for a certian protocol on the internet.

true cfire, but everyone thinks the internet is the web! just ask anyone what a url is and they'll surely tell you that its http://www.____, and not give one of the other standards such as ftp or telnet

wow, this was the most wonderly concieved argument I have ever been exposed to. It single handedly changed my views on the world, the internet, and everything else.
I can't believe how I once believed the internet was, not "shit" before this.
