Whose Richer?

I heard from a friend that BT actually has more money than Paul Oakenfold. Now I previously thought that on the money list Oakey rules supreme, but his contention was that Bt does more movie soundtracks and scores and his album sales are a lot higher, so I was just really wondering is this true?

I would imagine fatboyslim is richer than both of them....from all the money he made.....and moby I would imagine has made the most money because of all the commercials licensing his tracks.

Almost every track off play....was licensed for something at some point...for a commercial. Then again, moby probably gives away lots of his money to charities anyway....then he did the same thing with 18.....love him or hate him....he certainly made a fortune with the adverts....that's what got dirty vegas big...all from one commercial. That's why tiesto and paul van dyk have got into the commercial business....and companies made so much money from them....mitsibishi is one....who has done well..using breathe by telepopmusik and dirty vegas....they have increased sales a lot. Also they realize the dance music scene is growing and certain songs for artists...can get the artists what they don't have....a wider market. Plus everywhere the ad is....the song is....does not hurt the sales.

moby said himself that the tracks he produced for the album "play" was meant for commercial licensing from the very start.

Oakey no doubt has more money than BT. Reason's why:

(in no particular order)

1. He has to be undoubtedly the most known DJ in the World.
2. He brings in about 50 grand USD a gig, usually 2-3 hours.
3. He plays out at least 100 gigs a year, prolly more, just guessing.
4. He does do Movie Soundtracks, ie: Swordfish, Planet of the Apes.
5. He does commercial soundtracks.
6. He runs his own Record label.
7. He's sold millions of mix comilations, and his Perfecto Presents Anther World was the highest grossing Dance compilation ever back in 2000.
8. He produces and releases his own music.
9. He's also under Madonna's label "Maverick" which he makes even more money.
...there are more, but I can't think of any ATM.

BT does not even compare to Oakey's grossing. Sure he produces N'Sync and Britney tracks, but thats only a small piece of the pie. Oakey by far, by faaaaaaaar, is more rich than BT. Just my opinion.

peace.

Steve

Junkie XL could've made a fortune if he had profited from the sales of his remix of Elvis Presley. The only money he got though (and the only money he wanted) was for the remix itself, which was approximately some five or six thousand dollars.

Bunkka lost a lot of money for oakenfold tho.

BT made a fortune from the sales of n'sync and other things. Last I checked, neither Paul Oakenfold or BT or Moby needed MONEY or were hurting for cash. All are multi millionaires with more money than they need..
