they're the same. if you're using the 5mm leds in place of the two 3mm leds that light up the speed selector buttons then don't use the spacers that the stock leds use. also if you've never done anything like this it's really best to leave it to someone who knows what they're doing. here's a link to a step by step tutorial if you've got the skills to do this mod. cheers.

You can get them on turntablelab.com.

It ain't worth it though, 'cuz those bulbs die faster than your mom's flower garden.

LEDs last about 200,000hrs... where the hell did you get that idea?

The LEDs are exactly the same for all of the 1200s. If you know how to solder, it's fairly simple.

I've done the switch over to Blues including a custom Blue LED pop up light:

Actually that happened to me to one of the decks. I completely stripped it trying to get it off. I think the main reason I stripped it was becuase the screw driver wasn't the perfect size for it... In the end, I had to order a new pop-up case, a new boss driver (the little brass piece where the light case is screwed onto) and a pkg of screws from Panasonic and just replaced it. Completely sucked, but it didnt hit my wallet too hard. I think everything cost under $20 or $25.

twilo, i really like the way yours looks with the blue pop up light, i ahve seen them with all the reds to blues, but i havent seen a blue pop-up light. where did you get the lights for that, are LEDs the same, or are some bulbs better than others?

also, i am a pretty technical guy, and am a big do-it-yourselfer. i build my own computer, do all my car work myself, and almost everything around the house, but my 1200s arer my pride and joy, i would hate to break something on them or do some irreversable damage, i think id have to kill myself. im pretty good with a solderering iron, but can i do this myself? thanks alot for the info guys!!!

I think the most difficult part is having patience and soldering... it's very simple with the step by step directions.

LEDs are different in terms of quality... look for MCD numbers. The higher the brighter they are. Generally you wouldnt want to go under 4000MCDs for this conversion, all of mine are @ ~4k-5kMCD. Look in eBay for LEDs, they're plenty of sellers of decent LEDs for cheap.

As for the pop up light mod, I know a guy who swapped his and I basically got the info on how it was made and I fabricated it myself. The trick is to find the right resistor for it because of the voltage difference between the LEDs and the stock incandlescent bulb.
