Dancing Dude dance to my own beat

I am just getting into trance music...right now
I cant get enough of it - its like a drug. Any ideas on the best
software to use to create my own trance? Any tips
on how/where to get started? Also, I'm looking to get
a CD burner, any suggestions?

good luck, don't be disappointed if something doesn't work out in the beginning, it takes time and patience...

What do you guys think about Acid 2.0? What can you use it for, is it any good for trance tracks? How hard to learn i.e. is it worth a download?

Dunno why i'm in this thread again but i realised you want CD burner advice too:

If you want some thing real fast, and have a fair bit to spend then buy the Plextor Plexwriter 16/10/40A. It's Burn proof, (i.e. you can't f*ck your CD-R by running out of buffer) it's very fast and it's about £230. CD writers won't get much faster than this for a while and even so if/when they reach 32x it will only half the already lightening quick burn time.

Don't go external unless you need to use w/ laptop. But LaCie make some quality external drives, if you have to go that way.

If you want something cheaper go for mid to cheap range Ricoh drives, they make quality CD-R/W drives.

Try to avoid packages offering loads of software and media etc, get the drive and necessary cables (you most likely don't need cables), and that's it, don't even use the CD of drivers, download the newest ones from the companys website.
